Chyrstyn Fentroy

As a Los Angeles native, Chyrstyn began her dance training with her mother, getting early experience with the Joffrey Concert Group. She performed as a leading dancer with the Dance Theatre of Harlem.

Chyrstyn was featured on the January 2015 cover of Dance Magazine as one of the "25 to Watch," and she received the Princess Grace Honoraria Award in dance in 2016. In 2018, she was recognized as one of WBUR's "Artery 25," which recognizes influential artists of color in the Boston area.

Chyrstyn joined Boston Ballet as an artist of the Company in 2017. Shortly after, she was promoted to second soloist in 2018 to soloist in 2019. In 2022, she was promoted to principal dancer.

How did your dance journey begin?

My mother was a ballet dancer and teacher, and she put me in dance classes to keep me busy while she taught or rehearsed and the rest is history.
What accomplishments are you proud of?
My greatest accomplishment this far in my career is being promoted to principal dancer this year at a dream company like Boston Ballet.
